Martha gives her take on CrossFit Longevity.

Q.   What activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
A.    I really enjoy gardening, golf, bike riding, and yoga.

Q.   What is your current occupation or are you fully retired?
A.    I taught Aikido at UCSC for many years.  Currently I have a small
practice where I use Rolf deep release techniques.

Q.   Why did you choose Crossfit Longevity (CFL)
A.    I checked out a few crossfit boxes online and visited a couple of
the boxes. I was really looking for a crossfit program that offered a true age group
fitness training. I wanted both challenging and varied movements  which would both
increase my balance and make me physically stronger. I work with the senior population and I see
first hand how our strength leaves us without our awareness.

Q.   What has surprised you about your Crossfit Longevity (CFL) experience?
A.    The attitudes of the crossfitters in the classes. They are genuinely
having fun and are so  supportive of one anothers gains.  They are actually smiling and
teasing each other.  Secondly I became very aware of really how weak I had become.
However, I have been surprised how quickly my competency in the lifts and and strength
has improved in a very  short period time .

Q.   What would you tell an age group person who is interested in starting
CFL?
A.    The fitness challenge is worth it.  Don’t be intimidated as the
benefits will improve your quality of life.

Strength:  Week 9 of our squat progression.

4 Rounds of 2 Front Squats and 4 Back Squats at 85-90% of your 1 RM Front squat.

WOD:

3 minute AMRAP
