U’ilani Fund Ride

CrossFit Longevity is once again sponsoring the U’ilani Fund Ohana Ride for Breast Cancer on Saturday, October 24!  The ride supports local women by providing funding for complementary care like acupuncture and massage while they go through breast cancer treatment.  You can learn more about The U’ilani Fund at uilanifund.org.

Join the ride or just come for the luau at 2:30 at The Seymour Science Center for fabulous Hawaiian food, drinks and entertainment.  The CrossFit Longevity gals will be making mean Piña Coladas!  We also need volunteers to help out (contact Suzanne at suzanne.nicholas1@gmail.com if you’d like to help).

When: Saturday, October 24, 2015

Santa Cruz Coast

The ride is filling up quickly but there is still space!  Join us on Saturday, October 24in Santa Cruz for a 25, 45, or 65 mile leisurely ride on our new route along the Santa Cruz coast.  Registration includes lunch in Capitola, and a celebratory luau at The Seymour Science Center in Santa Cruz at ride’s end.  To learn more, click here or click the button below:

If you have already signed up, don’t forget to also sign up to help raise money for The U’ilani Fund. It’s very easy to set up your site and send out emails to your friends. We have raised $4,235 to date, with our top fund raiser Terry Holladay raising $2,225, with John Garza at her heels raising $1,710. All proceeds go directly to women with breast cancer to help them through a difficult time, as we are an all volunteer organization and have no overhead. This is a great way to have fun and make a personal impact on the lives of women who really need our support and help. In addition, the top fund raiser will win a GoPro camera. So get cracking!

The U’ilani Fund is an all volunteer non-profit 501(c)3 organization that funds complementary care for women with breast cancer to improve quality of life for women as they go through their cancer treatments. The U’ilani Fund was created in honor of Marina U’ilani Bermudez, who passed away from breast cancer in 2000. She found that complementary treatments helped her feel better when she struggled with her cancer. We have given away over $300,000 to local women in need since the organization was founded in 2001.
