Here comes the rain…

6 am warmup!

It’s here. In all it’s shimmering, wet, thunderous glory. It’s funny how the minute it rains, people who have been BEGGING for a few drops of the wet stuff for months are moaning and groaning about “all this rain” (you know, all 24 hours of it). I think the storm door is pretty open now and I for one LOVE it! I’m one of those weirdos who likes to run in the rain. Don’t ask why because I really don’t know. I don’t mind getting wet and muddy. I kinda like it. A lot. I’ve done my share of sliding down muddy hills, jumping into giant puddles for fun and one of my shoes is buried under Almar Ave. because as a kid I just couldn’t resist stomping through the knee-deep mud before they repaved the street. I hated those shoes anyway. I think part of what appeals to me is the super hot shower, (yes, I know, after I get hosed off in the front yard so I don’t track all that mud inside), the cup of hot coffee and the laziness that takes place afterward. I guess I kinda think that the dirtier I get, the more I deserve to just be lazy. So, if it’s raining, you might find me outside…but, before you think I am advocating running around like a crazy person in the middle of a massive thunderstorm, I’m not. It can be dangerous and I’m not telling anyone that it’s ok – lightning and flood warnings are a good reason to stay in. I’m just saying that a little rain (and mud) never hurt anyone…
